History

To clear up the possible disorientation for guests who haven't visited the Blue Ball for sometime the current Inn's location isn't the original Inn's location. Until 2001 it occupied what is now the site of three en suite letting rooms and ale was pumped from a cellar in the old coaching stables across the road! On Decmber 4th of that year Patrick "Paddy" Groves and his brother "moved" the Inn across the lane into said stables and so the new Blue Ball Inn was born.

On the old coaching routes, Inns would often hang out a coloured emblem for the coach drivers (who usually couldn't read or write) to follow, hence The Blue Ball Inn may have been appropriately named.
